MORTGAGE
BONDS
Efficient bond registration and cancellation services.
How can we help?
Our firm specialises in all aspects of mortgage bond registration and cancellation to make the process efficient and stress-free for both lenders and borrowers. With experienced conveyancers and dedicated professionals, we manage each step – from initial application to final registration or cancellation – to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
Mortgage bond services include preparing all necessary legal documents, verifying information, liaising with financial institutions, and handling submission to the Deeds Office for official registration or cancellation.
What is the difference between a mortgage bond registration and a bond cancellation?
A mortgage bond registration involves legally recording a mortgage bond with the Deeds Office to secure a loan against a property. A bond cancellation, on the other hand, occurs when a bond is repaid, and the lender formally releases the property from the bond, officially cancelling the mortgage on record.
Why is a conveyancer needed for mortgage bond registration?
Only a qualified conveyancer can facilitate the registration of a mortgage bond in South Africa, as it involves legal documentation and compliance with strict requirements from both financial institutions and the Deeds Office. A conveyancer ensures that all procedures are followed, protecting both the lender’s and the borrower’s interests.
How does the bond cancellation process work once a bond is paid off?
Once a mortgage is fully repaid, the lender (typically a bank) will issue a bond cancellation instruction. Our team handles the cancellation by preparing the necessary documents, submitting them to the Deeds Office, and ensuring that the bond is officially removed from the property title, clearing it of any financial claims.
